Jakarta - Breakfast at La Brasserie in Le Méridien Jakarta is one of those evenings that feels effortlessly special. From the moment we entered the spacious, elegantly lit dining room, it was easy to settle in and feel at ease. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between sophistication and comfort, making it a welcoming space for families to enjoy a meal together.
What makes La Brasserie truly stand out is the incredible variety of dishes that span Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, and Indian cuisine. Each station offers a little culinary adventure. The Indonesian classics, from rich and savory Ayam Tangkap Aceh to perfectly seasoned fried rice, immediately felt like a warm hug of local flavors. The Chinese and Japanese selections, including stir-fried fish, Singapore-style rice noodles, and teriyaki white fish, were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
The Indian section was equally impressive, with comforting Pongal, Sambar, and Chollar Dal prepared with care by Chef Zalika. It’s rare to find a buffet that combines such authenticity with a sense of personal touch, and here it was clear that the chefs genuinely enjoy sharing their creations. The egg station and steam station added an interactive and fun element, especially for kids, with freshly cooked dim sum, bakpao, and egg dishes prepared right in front of us.
The cold beverage station deserves a special mention for its extensive selection of juices and traditional drinks, making it easy to find something refreshing for every family member. And, as always, the friendly and approachable chefs made the experience feel personalized and warm, explaining dishes and offering recommendations with a smile.
Even the dessert and bread sections were a delight, from croissants and fruit danish to gelato in flavors like coffee, vanilla, and chocolate. It’s the attention to detail, the quality of ingredients, and the care in preparation that made the evening truly memorable.
Leaving La Brasserie, we felt content, nourished, and delighted, not just by the food, but by the shared family experience. It’s an ideal choice for families who want a buffet breakfast that balances variety, quality, and a welcoming atmosphere, where every meal feels like a special occasion.
