Jakarta - Dinner at La Brasserie in Le Méridien Jakarta has a way of turning an ordinary evening into something truly memorable. Stepping into the restaurant, the warm wooden accents and the soft lighting immediately create a welcoming atmosphere that feels both elegant and relaxed, a perfect balance for families. What makes this dining experience so special is the incredible variety of dishes, from authentic Indonesian flavors to Chinese classics, and even international selections, all served in a beautifully presented buffet style.

One of the highlights that captured our hearts as a family was the Indonesian section. The nasi cumi, with its rich, savory notes, immediately became a favorite, alongside traditional dishes like ayam goreng lengkuas, sambal teri kacang, and the comforting soto kuali. Each dish felt thoughtfully prepared, offering a genuine taste of Nusantara cuisine while still appealing to children and adults alike.

The seafood on ice station was another standout, with fresh shrimp and shellfish perfectly chilled, and the sushi and sashimi station delighted everyone with tuna topped in a variety of creative ways. Between bites of Asian classics like braised E-Fu noodles, stir-fried kailan, and fish sweet and sour, there was a sense of excitement as we explored every corner of the buffet. Even the egg station and roasted Harussa lamb leg added a touch of indulgence that made dinner feel like a celebration.

Desserts were a highlight in themselves. The cake station offered a colorful array, from chocolate truffle mousse to pandan coconut mousse, while traditional treats like lapis beras, bika ambon, and putu ayu brought a taste of nostalgia. Es doger Sumatra and gelato in chocolate, coffee, green tea, orange, and vanilla flavors became the perfect sweet finish to our meal. Even simple favorites like banana fritters, chocolate molten cake, and bubur kampiun felt elevated in this setting.

What really stood out, beyond the food, was how approachable and welcoming the staff and chefs were, explaining dishes and offering recommendations with genuine warmth. It made the experience not just about eating but about exploring and sharing a meal together as a family. The drink station, with fruit punch, lemongrass iced tea, and infused water, offered refreshing options to complement the feast perfectly.

Dining at La Brasserie felt like discovering a treasure trove of flavors, where every bite told a story and every dish invited us to experience something new. It’s a place that families will cherish for both the food and the joyful atmosphere, making it one of our favorite dinner experiences in Jakarta.
